In our glove workshop, we keep everything: drawings, even if they're just sketches. Fabric samples, leather samples, buttons. Or magazine clippings and patterns. Most importantly, we keep a sample of every glove we've sewn over all these years – that's how we are in Naples, we don't like to throw anything away.
We put everything in a couple of large cupboards that my father converted into archives many years ago. They are incredibly important to us, and we thought it was time to also have a different kind of archive, a digital one.
The idea of "cut and sew" was born this way; more than a monthly newsletter, it's a friendly chat where we can talk about a little bit of everything, from Neapolitan style to new products. From how to take measurements for a glove to ancient Neapolitan traditions. From fashion to whatever comes to mind. A friendly cut and sew, in short, of which this is just the introduction.
See you soon, Max.
